Sunday lunch holds a special place as the main event in most people’s weekly calendars—a cherished and eagerly awaited time to reconnect with loved ones and friends after days or even weeks apart. At The Norton Dog, Sunday lunch transcends the idea of a mere meal; it is truly a vibrant celebration of togetherness and tradition. We cherish family time profoundly, creating an environment that brings people close in a warm, cosy, and inviting atmosphere that genuinely feels like a second home, a sanctuary where comfort meets conviviality.
Our dedicated chefs begins the day bright and early at 8:00 am with meticulous and thoughtful preparation, fully aware that the secret to an extraordinary Sunday roast lies not only in the finest ingredients but also in the care and precision given to the meats. The menu proudly showcases four distinctive roasts, each thoughtfully crafted to reach the pinnacle of perfection. We start with a succulent Topside of Beef and a tender English leg of Lamb, both expertly cooked to a delicate pink to ensure every slice remains wonderfully tender and bursting with flavour. Additionally, we slow cook the Belly Pork confit in its own rich fat for a full 10 hours, resulting in meat so incredibly succulent it melts effortlessly in the mouth. For those who prefer poultry, we also serve a beautifully roasted Breast of Chicken, equally tender and flavoursome.
Alongside these exquisite meats, we devote equal care to preparing seasonal vegetables and thyme-roasted potatoes, achieving that perfect balance of texture and taste. Complementing the roast is our home-cooked Yorkshire pudding, rising golden and crisp, and a rich, homemade gravy painstakingly crafted to bring every element together harmoniously. Every vegetable and cut of meat is locally sourced, ensuring freshness and supporting the community around us. This unwavering attention to detail guarantees that each roast delivered to our tables is not just a meal, but a memorable and heartfelt experience that guests will long savor.
